The 7th annual Poetry Night in Ann Arbor takes place this Friday! This year’s celebration of language, literacy and creative culture will feature poets from the nationally lauded VOLUME Youth Poetry Project plus performances from the dyanimic collegiate spoken word troupe Ann Arbor Wordworks. Out-of-town guests include New York City’s Aracelis Girmay (who Poets & Writers just named one of the top 12 debut poets of 2007) and San Francisco’s Dennis Kim (a.ka. Denizen Kane of the underground hip hop group Typical Cats).
It all takes place on Friday night, January 18th, beginning @ 7pm in the Lydia Mendelssohn Theater in the MichiganLeague, 911 N. University at Fletcher Street in Ann Arbor. Doors will open @ 6:30.
