Just want to say thanks to Christine for telling us about this event. Agreed with a lot but disagreed with even more especially the notions that nothing written these days is considered great or even good. And that the well written stuff is all “underground” literature. Made me glad that OUR EMU FACULTY aren’t such bleak perceivers of our world.

(but it is okay to use bleak content in writing and to match that stylistically when the constriction/mood/whim call(s) for it.)

When I secretly visited EMU’S campus and met people from its film department, A man saw me, told me he was a creative writing student at EMU and said, “A writer uses the visual art to occupy an excellent break in between the times of writing.” I agreed and asked him his name, but he very swiftly ran away. Do you know of any student who fits that quote?
